Last month in February, our youth members created handmade cards and letters of gratitude for the veterans at the DeBakey Veterans Hospital. (check out the blog post chronicling it here!)
This March, we were able to organize a meet up with Ms. Sheryl Corbit of the DeBakey VA to drop off the cards.
Due to the pandemic, the hospital units have been on lockdown, leading to a limit on visitors for the patients. Quarantine has led to an increase of feeling isolated, but the cards worked a way for us to extend our thanks and positivity while staying safe.
“The veterans were very pleased with their cards,” shared Ms. Corbit, “Thank you!”
